The primary vessel associated with Jewish candles is the Menorah. Its key characteristics fall into two main forms:

The Seven-Branched Menorah
This is the oldest iconic artifact of Judaism, symbolizing the seven days of Creation. Once used in the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, it now serves as the central element of Israel's national emblem, representing the foundational faith of the Jewish people.

The Nine-Branched Hanukkah Menorah (Hanukkiah)
Designed specifically for the festival of Hanukkah, it holds eight candles corresponding to the festival's eight days, plus one "servant candle" (*Shammes*) used to light the others. It commemorates the miracle of the sacred oil burning for eight days and is the central ceremonial object of the holiday.
