What We Control in Production
An outdoor bucket candle fails for three reasons: a wick too small for the diameter, citronella load that drops between batches, and a lid that will not seat after the first burn. These are the five points we hold in every order.
Container and fill weight
Bucket gauge, diameter and fill weight are set per order, from small patio buckets to wider formats for garden centers. We confirm the finished weight and wick position on the sample before the bulk run is scheduled.
Wax and citronella load
The citronella percentage is fixed at sampling and recorded on the order sheet, so the scent strength stays the same on repeat orders. The blend contains no DEET and no insecticide; buyer supplied oils can be tested on our wax first.
Wick and burn behaviour
A single cotton wick is sized to the bucket diameter so the melt pool reaches the edge without tunnelling. Burn tests follow ASTM F2417 for the United States and EN 15494 for Europe, with results available on request.
Color and finish
Powder-coated bucket colors are matched to a Pantone reference from 500 pcs per color. Wax can be left natural or tinted to the same reference so the candle reads correctly through the lid opening.
Packing and documents
Bulk cartons, shrink packs, display boxes and multi-packs are available. Retail packaging can carry your barcode and multilingual warning text, and our sales support team checks label wording against the destination market before production.

PRODUCTION
From Wax Blend to Sealed Carton
Bucket production is short and repeatable, which is why lead times stay predictable. Sampling and bulk run on the same line, in the same workshop that handles our torch and terracotta candles.
STEP 01
Wax blending
Paraffin and citronella oil are blended at a controlled temperature and stirred until the load is fully dispersed.
STEP 02
Filling and wicking
Wax is poured into the bucket at a set temperature, then the wick is set while the surface is still warm and trimmed to length.
STEP 03
Lid and finishing
Lids are fitted and checked for seating, and each bucket is wiped and inspected for fill level before it moves to packing.
STEP 04
Inspection and packing
Cartons are checked for bucket finish, wick centring and label position before they are sealed and marked.
