Outdoor Citronella Candles for Gardens, Patios and Garden Retail
Citronella works best when the candle is sized to the space it has to cover. A garden table needs a wide melt pool, a pergola needs a hanging format, and a border needs something low that burns unattended for hours.
Two constructions cover those jobs — a garden citronella candle and a light-up citronella candle — filled in Tonglu, Zhejiang, in the same workshop as our citronella torches, terracotta candles and mosquito repellent candles.

CONTROL POINTS
What We Control in Production
Citronella is a scent, not a coating, so the load and the melt behaviour decide how the candle performs outside.
Citronella load
Oil is blended into the wax at the load approved on the sample. The load is set per market rather than one formula for every destination.
Melt pool and wick
Wick size follows the vessel diameter so the pool reaches the rim without tunnelling. Wide table formats take a larger wick than hanging formats.
Vessel and finish
Glazed ceramic, glass and metal are all filled on the same line. Color and finish are matched to the buyer artwork before filling.
Hanging hardware
Hooked formats are fitted with a plated hook tested against the filled weight, so the candle hangs level under a pergola beam.
Labels and warnings
Market warning text, barcodes and scent declarations are applied before cartons are closed.

Garden centers sell a shelf of shapes rather than one candle. The three zones below are the ones buyers plan around.
Dining table
A wide, low candle with a broad melt pool covers the table without a tall flame. Choose a vessel that shades the flame on a breezy evening.
Pergola and porch
A hanging format keeps the flame away from the table surface and spreads scent at head height under a beam or canopy.
Lawn and border
Ground formats sit low and burn long. Place them along the edge of a lawn or path where people walk past rather than through.

Vessel, wax color and scent load are all buyer-specified. Most garden retail programs combine two or three formats under one label so the shelf reads as a family.

PRODUCTION
From Wax Blend to Sealed Carton
Sampling and bulk run on the same line in our workshop, so the approved sample and the shipment come from the same process.

Wax blending
Citronella oil is blended into melted wax and filtered before filling.

Filling and wicking
Vessels are filled, wicks centered and the surface levelled after cooling.

Finishing
Hooks, lids and labels are fitted and each unit is checked for a straight wick.

Packing
Cartons are sealed, marked and palletised against the packing list.

What is the minimum order?
2,000 pcs per size and color. Mixed colors are accepted within one size, and trial quantities are quoted case by case.
How long does a garden citronella candle burn?
Burn time follows fill weight and vessel diameter. The figure on your approved sample is the one we confirm; most formats sit in the 25 to 60 hour range.
Can the candle be supplied unscented?
Yes. The same formats can be filled with a plain wax or a fragrance oil if the program is decorative rather than citronella-led.
Is citronella a repellent?
It is a DEET-free scented candle, not a registered repellent device, and it contains no insecticide. It works best in still air and sheltered spaces.
Can we mix formats in one container?
Yes. Table, hanging and ground formats share the same wax and packing schedule, so one container can carry the full shelf.
Do you supply the vessel or do we?
Both routes are possible. We source glazed ceramic, glass and metal vessels, or fill vessels supplied by the buyer after a sample approval.
